The Role
No day is the same, the Support Worker role is perfect for those who love being out and about, meeting and helping people. You will play an important part in assisting individuals to achieve their goals and maintain their well-being.
Depending on the individual you support (and your preference), you may will assist with accessing the community, domestic assistance, personal care or transportation. From heading to the beach for a day out, taking an art class or going for a coffee, you are helping someone with their goals, independence and skills.
Requirements
This will vary depending on the individual's type of supports. Here at Maple qualifications are desired however not mandatory! If it's your first time in the field, we provide you with the relevant training and skills to blossom your career in Support Work.
If you have worked in community support, mental health, social work, home care, aged care or as a youth worker, social worker, case worker, you can easily apply the skills and knowledge into the Support Worker role.
The qualities we look for in a worker are:
- Passionate, empathetic and dedicated
- Strong verbal and written skills
- Positive attitude and takes initiative
- Ability to work unsupervised and part of a team
All staff must have current a NDIS Worker Screening Check, WWCC, First Aid & CPR, ABN and covid certification. A driver's license and car is required.
Contractor insurances are also required, e.g., public liability, professional indemnity and personal accident.
