Circular Economie Manufacturing Operations Supervisor
40 hours per week, hybrid/On location in Venlo

What You’ll Do

In this role you will be responsible for the day-to-day planning, coordination and execution of the operational activities for the reuse of parts and machines as well as the assembly and delivery of it. You need to be able to keep a very safe workplace for the staff, lead byexample on the floor, in cooperation with your peers. Lean manufacturing is the key word of this important responsibility, as well as capacity planning for your staff of 20-30 assembly and logistic operators. These assembly and logistic operators reuse, repair and remanufacture Canons Spare Parts and Machines for a second life. Test the units and modules with the right quality and efficiency, while contyinusly improve the operation.

Furthermore, You’ll be responsible for:

  • setting up the short and mid-term staffing plans and monitoring the continuity, so that operation flows smoothly
  • take care of problems, discuss it with the involved parties and solve them correctly, by using modern means and methodes to come to a fast and efficient solution
  • have an eye for critical situations in the factory environment and keep Health and Safety standards at industry levels. Zero incidents is our main goal and the highest priority
  • coach and motivate your team to achieve the set goals and targets
  • signal improvements, translate them into efficient proposals and implement them via working methods as LEAN manufacturing, Kaizen and 5S, participate in 8Ds where applicable
  • deliver an important contribution for continuous improvements to the manufacturing processes
  • you are responsible for the annual Human Ressource cycles of Canon which is to generate the task settings of your staff, the development talks of your team and at the end of the year the performance reviews of each individual.
  • you discuss with other Operations Supervisors new team members and organize a needed staff level for the orders in manufacturing and logistic (Warehouse)

As an recent example: A new reman unit was agreed and the Operations SV is asked to add a pilot assembly operator to the team and support the setup of the new workspace. The SV is organizing the right person with the right skill level out of his team or from other teams, reorganizes the othe tasks this Operator cannot do anymore and integrates him in the CEM factory. SV is looking out for ergonomics, availability of tooling and all over everything else, asures with Engineering that the workplace is safe for man and machine. The SV organizes a LEAN environment with Engineering and Logistic and space availability for a good flow of production. Correct booking of hours and support in education is done, while processes within the factory are updated to the new situation. Later the SV is motivating all involved for continuous improvement of the workspace and workflow while assuring orders being delivered on time and in quality as specified.

The location is based in Venlo, you report directly to the CEM Manufacturing Manager.

What You Bring

  • you have a MBO or Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a technical direction
  • approximately 5 years of experience of which 2 years in a supervisor position, preferably within a production environment
  • strong leadership skills
  • proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • experience in working and acting on Key Performance Indicators
  • strong verbal and written communication skills in Dutch and English
  • fulltime (40 hours) available
